In the 2015 offseason, the Miami Heat reached a one-year, $20 million contract deal with Dwyane Wade to keep him on the roster for his 13th year both in the franchise and in the NBA. Wade, an 11-time NBA All-Star and three-time NBA Champion, started the 2015-2016 season with a 20-point performance to help lead the Heat to a 104-94 victory over the Charlotte Hornets. His point total from the opening game is on par with his 21.5 average from last year.
Selected fifth overall in the 2003 draft, Wade has since set the Miami all-time scoring record with 18,812 points and counting, as well as 4,600 assists and 1,335 steals. In addition to his on-court numbers, he holds MVP honors from the 2006 NBA Finals and the 2010 All-Star game.
